does anyone play chinese chess here?  asking coz of my dad.. he enjoys playing chinese chess, but both my mum and i don't know how to play.  and probably because of age, he's getting increasingly forgetful.  i'm hoping to engage him in some "thinking" activities to exercise his brains abit.  he doesn't like mahjong.. don't like to gamble.  we told him to go down to the coffeeshops nearby to mingle with the other senior citizens, or go for a stroll after dinner (have the mentality, "what if others think i'm a baddie loitering around??").  he don't want to.  we dunno what to do with him.  sometimes he can even ask my mum, "have i bathed for today?"  getting more and more senile, more stubborn.  we kind of give up on him already.. explained things countless times, but he never understands our intentions.  it's very frustrating.  we can only "one ear in, one ear out."  or get ourselves super-angry.

shells, I don't mean to alarm you, but what you described of your dad seems like he may have Alzheimer's Disease. Have you brought him for a checkup on this?
