Water filtration system for homes.Recommendations, reviews and comments welcome.

  Hi all, I am thinking of getting some water filtration system for residential use. Just a month ago, there was a road show by Hyflux selling their 'eLife' water filter. It is akin to Diamond water filter sytem. Those of you who bought any of these, please comment and review on them. These systems do not come cheap hence need to hear some of your valuable comments. But Sg water is known to be safe to drink even from the tap.
So do we need further filtering?

Generally, Sg water is safe to drink from the PUB spec or comparing to other country, not very sure the PUB spec measure from household or in their processing plant. However, the main contamination come from the piping that travelling from PUB water processing plant to household. Bacteria, organic, inorganic substance and dust particle goes into our cup. Boiling killed most bacteria but not chemical contain in the water especially high chlorine in our tap water, those keeping fish will know. Chlorine is harmful to our body. Is good to have filtration for drinking but got to be watchout on several points 1)the maintanence cost 2)regular maintanence, if u don't, is worst than drinking directly fm tap, 3)what does the filter eliminate and lastly 4) what does the filter contain. Do more research before decide.

By the way, anyone knows if the PUB pipes are clean regularly?
And for filteration system, it is true that we need to change the filter regularly, else is as good as drinking unfiltered water which goes thru the previous capture impurities on the filter...
