Well, I am not too sure if it is true but I did put a pillow under my buttocks to raise my hips when I tried for my 1st one and it worked for me Smiley Quite a number of my friends who did the same also conceived.  I guess there is no harm doing that and I read somewhere that if you have a retroverted uterus, it does help to some extent. You gotta put the pillow to raise ur buttocks for about 20-30mins.  It can quite uncomfortable but for the sake of having a baby, no harm trying ya?

There are actually methods you can try to "choose" the sex of your baby.  One of the most popular ones is the Shettles Method.  You can read about it at http://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Gender-Selection-The-Shettles-Method.html

Of course these are not guaranteed methods. It's meant for reference. Scientifically, the Shettles method does makes sense, esp the timing of intercourse and ovulation but the hard part is, for many women nowadays, we cannot be sure of our ovulation period.I personally had to see gynae to confirm my ovulation period (yes, they can do scans for you to check) Thats when hubby and I tried for a baby.

At the end of the day, I learnt that what works for others may not work for you because every woman is different but some methods which dont hurt are worth trying in my opinion hee Smiley

yup i have read the Shettles method but for girls it's hard to time becoz must be 3 days before ovulation, hard to predict lei as after my 1st child (jackpot with first try) my period is now rather irregular.

Wow... Stacy very pro leh...
But all the things tat she say is very helpful..

You have to think of who will be looking after your baby after ur confinement, ur parents or MIL??  Have to check with them first.. if w/o their help everything will be very sheong and cost you more $$$

I'm the super KS person when it comes to this. I did alot of reading up before i planned for my first baby. Here's my tips (alot of my frens said i super KS but i just 12 be sure that eth's ok):

For woman
- take at least a 400mg of folic acid 6 mths before planning (or u can just take a prenatal vitamins which u can get from GNC)
- take a prenatal test
- take the ribilla (cant recall how to spell) and chicken pox vaccine
- eat as healthy as u can (i avoided alcohol and caffeine totally 6 mths b4 planning and of course during pregnancy)
- take alot of fruits to build up your immunity

For man
- take a multivitamin every day (vit c esp will strengthen the sperm)
- clothings shldnt be tight (eg wearing a boxer instead of underwear)
- avoid alcohol, smoking and caffeine
- stay healthy by exercising (but dont stay in the sun for too long as it kills the sperm)

Most important of all, the 2 of u shld try to stay stress-free during the period. And after making out, dont stand up immediately. Put a pillow below your bottom and keep your legs slightly up for a few mins so that the sperms can flow in faster.

You can read up this website:

Hope this helps!

hi everyone! new to punggol.sg but finding it rather relevant and interesting.

my hb and i are trying to conceive but it's really hard for me to tell whether i'm ovulating as i don't get very obvious cervical mucus that accompanies ovulation. any of you ladies out here who have conceived even though without clear signs of CM?
