Yes, I breast-fed all my 3 kids - 1st one for 15 mths, cos pregnant with number 2. 2nd and 3rd child weaned off after 2 yrs. Save a lot on expensive formula and kids had the best food meant for them. I heard this saying - cows milk are meant for calves.

Breastfeeding is tough, doesn't look as easy from the brochure. My colleague gave me a valuable advice - once if decided, never give up, especially the 1st 3 days, no milk, only colostrum, which is so precious for the new born. New born have enough fats to last them 3 days while waiting for the milk to be produced. You must press on and don't give in by supplementing with formula - once you start supplementing, low demand means lower supply!

Get the lactation consultant to help you when you are in the hospital - to make sure tt baby is latching on correctly and help clear any blocked ducts. Husband's support is the most impt. Also start breast-feeding in the delivery suit, within the first half an hour, once baby is cleaned up.

Ehmm .. Studies has shown that folic acid does not help in any way before planning for pregnancy, but there's no harm taking it.

I didn't had my rubella injection when I was in Sec 3 (due to moved school, ex school haven't give the injection, while the new one already had).

Took lots of cold drinks, take bumpy ride cos I have forgotten that I was pregnant and have yet inform my family!! (even my mum's bone make some cracking noise while riding it!), fruits, etc, water, turn out my baby was healthy, rosy and active. I attribute it to taking organic suplements.

Also, putting a pilow on your buttock after intimacy does not helps in making the sperm reach faster to the egg either.

My only advise is stay happy and take things naturally. It won't really cost you that much. My baby is having soy milk, monthly about S$30 for a tin (during baby time), and Huggies (pampers are too small size and the sides hurt him cos he's very active, always kicking) about S$30/ mth. Hmm .. has anyone notice that Pampers are smaller in size, compared with other brand?!

Try differ brand of pampers, not every brand suits your baby. My baby used to have Huggies, and recently change to Drypers, the sticker on each side are solid! Won't give way and won't hurt his both side.

Get 2nd hand stuff, baby wears it more comfortably (some of the label attach behind can cause itchiness/ rashes, esp new clothes)

women needs to start taking folic acid before pregnancy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folic_acid#Folic_acid_and_pregnancy

the studies you refer to, probably states folic acid is not effective when taken late.
