One month later, lets review the progress at site.

The piling machine is still there, pile pressing is still in progress. Workers were at site digging trenches to locate finished pile heads. Once trenches are open up to the size required, the next stage of the construction will proceed.

Fabrication of beam reinforcements, formwork erection and concreting should follow.

Piling work for the Community Club completed. Heavy piling machine had left the site a few days ago.

Excavators are digging trenches to locate the pile heads. Land surveying levelling machines, portable cutting and welding machines are at site.

At one location opposite the proposed entrance to the CC, workers are concreting the massive foundation and are in the process of completion. Next to it excavators are busy working on the ground.

In another month's time, from the general progress at site, most of the foundations should be ready and fabrication of the steel work for the columns should commence.

Punggol Community Club is surrounded and dwarf by Punggol Plaza on the left, Punggol Nautilus behind and on the right. So whenever a picture is taken from higher ground all surrounding buildings seems to crowd and make Punggol CC very small.

The construction of the Community Club is different from the pre-fab structures of our BTO flats all around Punggol.

Pictures show the wall of the first structure that went up were constructed with red-bricks, cement and mortar. Steel reinforcements for the beams of the adjacent structure were fabricated on site. Once ready, BRC's for the floor will be laid and concreted after inspection. The contractors used the traditional method because each and every floor may be designed differently.

Not many workers are seen working daily, but the progress for the past six weeks seems good.

Look at the massive temporary steel tubing supports below floor. These are used to support the weight of the concrete floor slabs during and after concreting. Concrete takes about 28 days to set and be hardened before the temporary structures can be dismantle.
