Any Recommendation for Bali Resort?

Am planning to go with friends in Apr '07 thus dont know which resort is gd? Cld anyone out there share theirs with me to aids in my planning. That wld be very much grateful.

Budget wise we are okay for $500 +/- and I think my friends prefer at least 4 star hotel/resort. Ultimately is the accessibility to the nearby place.

In addition where shld we go at Bali for makan, sight-seeing, shopping and spa.

There are  3 beach resorts there.

Kuta
Nusa Dua
Sanur

Kuta is where the crowds, shops, nightlife, night markets, more vibrant resort
Nusa Dua is slightly further, peaceful, quiet, also have shops but crowds are less.
Sanur is in between Kuta and Nusa Dua. 15 mins to Kuta. Crowds not so many compare to Kuta.

You may ask yourself, which type is yr personality?

YUPPIES - Kuta Beach (ranging from 1 - 5 stars hotels)
Honeymooners - Nusa Dua Beach ( all are 5 stars hotels)
In Between - Sanur Beach (4 and 5 stars hotels)

We stayed in Sanur Bali Hyatt in Dec. Great for family gateway.

TIPS: BARGAIN at least 100% less. Example: a T-shirt sells $10, either ask 3 T-shirts for $10 or 1 T-shirt for $2 as a start, increase slowly.

Thanks Alaska. Mine & the rest of my friends wld prefer the Yuppies ones where we can shop, makan and hop into any night club. 4 star hotel wld be gd for us.

Kuta beach then is suitable for all of you. Check the website for good deal since April is not a peak season.
