Went to KEC last night. More or less set my mind for the Wharfedale System 9.1, 9.0 & 9.cc. However the sales manager, Patrick, breakdown the prices for me pls see the prices below:

Option a) Package - $1850
Wharfedale System 9.1, 9.0 & 9.cc
Mordaunt Short Sub-woofer 150W
Denon AV-1507

Option b) Package - $963
Wharfedale System 9.1, 9.0 & 9.cc

Optional items:
1) Yamaha RX-V559 ($700)
2) Yamaha RX-V659 ($830)
3) Speaker stand per pair ($145)

Note: In fact i can change the Denon AV-1507 to Yamaha V559 at $300 more or V659 at $430 more.

As per above package Option a) more justifable for the price as compare to Option b). However I wld still want to hear from you before I make my decision. Do let me know any good Amp that do justice to the speakers as I'm in quite puzzled what Amp to get.

Have u audit all the combinations stated above?
To me, if u are solely a movie lover, pair wharfedale spk with Yamaha. As Yammy tends to give brighter sound.
Denon are more for those into music.

Btw, my friend is ok for us to visit his place this sat morning, but i may not be avail. Can only confirm on fri if i can finished my job, so tat i dun have to go back office on sat.

Forget abt the Mordaunt Short sub, get SVS. Go Go Go! Heehee.

hehee.. actually, with the technologies moving so fast.. why talk about future proof?  4 me, my pioneer (bought end-2001) may not be one of the top end ones now.. but it's powerful enough for my space of 4 room hall.  if, haha.. i strike it.. oh man.. by then, i'd probably have a change of heart liao!  then i'd definitely get a bigger place, and dedicate one room purely for entertainment!  sound proof.. rock solid effects!  movies and party all night!  no need to go for any cinemas anymore.  cool it, baby!!!
