Hi Honda,

Nice to know you.

Spoken to her teachers recently, according to them, pupils will only bring back the worksheet if they didn't finish in school.

Actually, my situation is similar to your wife, in fact I'm worse than her. My kid is only P1 and I'm already so stressful. Maybe I'm not familiar with the current primary school curriculum, so I'm guiding her based on my experience. When I learned that P1 pupils need to write composition, I was very shock! I don't think I can do it when I was P1. Then, I started to worry how my kid going to write, what happen if she doesn't know, will she be upset, is this my fault for not preparing her earlier and so on. See, I'm worse right! head banging

That's why I need advices from other parents. I'm keen to hear more about your kid, can share with me? You may PM me if you wish.

It all depends on the form teacher - some teachers believe that homework is good for them - so homework everyday, while others let the child finish the work in class, so homework only if cannot complete in class. My son (P1) is in Edgefield Primary School and his form teacher is very open - she gets feedback from parents whether she is giving too much or too little homework - sometimes a little hard for them to please everyone. I introduce selected assessment books just to let them have a feel of the exam format and help my eldest (P3)revise her work. (she has never completed any assessment books that I bought for her!)  Bottomline: kids should enjoy school and learning (quote from the Principal)

it is also depends on the character, family background of each child.

Go for good enrichment class not a tuition class.

English enrichment is like Morris Allen, Lorna Winston, Julia Gabriel, I can Read.
Maths enrichment is like all those creative
Chinese enrichment is like Tien Hsia, etc

These are quite good programmes but will not satisfy every child needs. This will create interest as they teach in different way not traditional tuition.

Hi
I am also new here. My son in in P1 @ Mee Toh  and I am trying to network with ladies who have kids in P1 @ Mee Toh.  I have been rather stressed out lately and still trying to grasp the fast pace of school life in Mee Toh, wondering if anyone out there feeling the same as me too ?? head banging.
