kids love to imitate us and i suggest to buy a toilet seat with cushion to put it over the toilet seat and let them do their business everytime now since they r 18th month old. By 2 to 3 , they should be dry during their afternoon nap. Award star sticker for each dry diaper after a nap and treat them to a 20cents  car ride. ha ha!!!

By 3 yr old , my boy refused to put on diaper in the night and had stay dry throughout the night. he sleeps thru and i don't even need to wake him up in the middle of the night to clear his bladder. am v. blessed. I didnt plan to potty train him at all and it just happen so smoothly. i guess its all about not showing any anxieties to the child if he gets wet but reward him if he stays dry. my boy is 7 now.

My girl who is 3 yr now , is only dry throughout the night occasionally only. She will wake me up to bring her to the toilet in the middle of the some nights. Different child will take different time to be ready.
