Hi,

The weather is getting warmer and we are thinking of installing air-con in our flat. We live in a exec flat & have an open kitchen. The study room walls are knocked down to convert into a dining area therefore we have 1 big space linking the kitchen, dining & living room. The ceiling is abt 3m high.

Wonder if anyone can recommend a good air-con brand that is able to cool this big area & the 3 bedrooms.

Cheers!

u need 2 compressor to do the job. one of the FU will be link to 1 of the compressor only. This single unit FU will be of large capacity than the other 3.
The other 3 FUs can link to another compressor. by doing this way, you can save on the electricty cost.
Brand wise, my recommandation is MIT with the inverter.
Another way is to have 2 FUs(slightly high capacity than the other 3)  in your living room and these 2 FUs must link to the same compressor and the rest of the three will be on another compressor.

Hi Gaonrat,

Thanks for the helpful info.

We are thinking of getting 2 compressors. The living & dining rm fancoils to 1 compressor & the 3 bedrm ones to another compressor.

Do you think a 9000 BTU fan coil each in the living & dining rm will be cool enough as these 2 spaces are linked to my open kitchen as well & the ceiling is 3m (higher that the normal HDFB ceiling height)?

Was considering Mit as it markets itself as easy clean & energy saving but found it expensive. Now looking at panasonic inverter (the new one with the green line infront). Any reviews on this model?

Tyn, I have 2 compressors, the 3 bedrooms, each 9000 btu, under 1 compressor; the other compressor for the 2 fan coils for the living and dining rooms, each 12000 btu, but using cheap aircon 'York' but it works ok even after 4 years
