Each time when something happens  in Singapore, it's easy.........someone will just raise a hand, point a finger to ......" OH EXTERNAL FACTORS ".  Can't we blame ourselves at least once and said " OH it's our problem, we need to sit down and see how to solve this problem, lets not blame others.

Poultry prices on the rise.........the main culprit are the chickens. How to solve ?? Set up chicken farming ??HOW ?

Vegetable ?? Plant our own vegetables ?? How ??
Fish, pork and all necessities.........a solution has to be found. How ??

Buy a small province in China or in Vietnam together with farmers  Smiley Smiley form a big GRC or several GRCS and supply hometown Singapore with all the necessities. Appoint a mayor to take charge. Can it work ?? I don't know. But at least start something and don't always depend on others. Can it stablised  inflation ? MAYBE .......

Grin Grin We must start somewhere.....RIGHT ?? Smiley Smiley

PUB supplies 40m gallons of NEWater to industries each day.

SINGAPORE : The PUB now provides about 40 million gallons of NEWater to industries each day.

This is almost half of its target to supply about 90 million gallons a day by 2011.

When it achieves this target, the PUB would be meeting 30 percent of Singapore's water needs.

This is what is meant, " we have to depend only on ourselves". If everybody sits on the water problem and kept buying water from elsewhere, Singapore is at the  mercy of water suppliers.  What is the result ? At least today, the water supplier is making less noise.  thumbs up

If Singapore still points a finger at outside factors, today water problem still stays and suppliers will threaten us on and off as if without water Singaporeans will be extinct.

cant compare water with other food items.

when food prices increases, our millionare PAP members wont bat an eyelid abt the price increase since their pay increase far exceeds that. when water supply cuts, got money also no use

The prices of food, necessities, petrol can continue to sky rocket..
A few percentage per year is sufficient to make the middle and lower income group suffer..
But that will not affect the upper class and millionaire ministars..
Significant increments are felt by the rest but to them, it's just peanuts..
