a good suggestion to counter this new guideline... abolish the '3/4 tank' rule.. wat do u guys think?
If the price for petrol in Msia is market rate (or unsubsidised), then i think this rule should be abolished. The main reason for the rule in the first place is to protect the interest of petrol stns in Spore.

Juz back from M'sia.

They not goin to ban us from refuel in JB, juz we have to pay mkt rate for it.  Their fuel is subsidized for their own citizen, to help them cope with rising cost of living and to maintain low cost of daily products which has to be transported from point A to point B daily.

Our govt don't subsidized for non-s'porean....may be juz give that scholarship.....but it's fair.

They know that if they ban us from refuel, JB has no s'porean and biznesses, especially petrol station, shopping centres, supermarkets, food centre and even massage parlours will lose bizness.

We are not like the thai's....they buy lots of fuel in northern m'sia.....don spend much there, but sell the subsidized fuel to thai ppl in the southern states.   They make huge profits and we all can see, northern m'sia is not like JB.....it's like an old village while JB is properous.   We spend lots of $$$ in JB to destress ourselves from life in singapore.

May be this is only a temp measure until oil prices back to a more realistic prices.

Hope our govt could help by eleminating ERP as oil prices is so expensive, not many will like to drive anymore.   Hope our inflation rate could go down but we cant do anything......the ball is on the govt side.

Punggolboy...the ban is temporary measure till they come up with the new subsidy scheme for their ppl. Whatever the outcome, foreigners will have to pay market rate after that. As of yesterdays news, the ban will be enforced from 9 June 2008. Msia PM will be addressing this issue today.
