Last week I was at one of the famous roti prata shop at Jln Kayu. While eating, a couple around their late 20s was at the table next to mine. I saw that the lady's handphone (an iPhone mind you) had slipped out of her pocket and dropped on the floor. I alerted them and they picked up the phone and there was not a word of Thank You from any of them. If I knew they had no manners, I would have kept quiet and let her lose her 'precious' phone... waving

Yesterday I was at the one of the food stall at Koufu. While queing, a lady around her early 30s was standing at the counter and stretched to the left to take a tray at the shelf and at the same time dropped a $50 note near my feet (which I was not aware of). I was at that time looking at the dishes. She then said to me 'I dropped my money', I picked the money from the floor and gave it to her. She didn't even say 'Thank You'. I was so annoyed with this kind of bad manners, I looked at her and sarcastically said 'Thank You!' but she pretended not to get the message.  Is it so difficult to say 'Thank You' or 'Sorry' when required? angry

That's why our govt have to implement the Courtesy Campaign which I belief is not necessary if ppl are taught & practice manners from young.

Remember the slogan: Courtesy...it begins with me.....

You ppl want to share your experience or give suggestions on what we can do to address the issue? chitchat

Singapore has more than one million foreigners living with us, which means to say, out of a group of four people, one is a foreigner. Quite frightening right ?

We see them in our hawker centres, buses, trains, shopping centres, offices etc. so maybe the people we meet without manners or courtesy are foreigners. Huh? Huh?

Most of the time you can tell a local from a foreigner. Being a foreigner doesn't give one the exception not to practice good manners. From my encounters, I can say that they're locals.
