I dont really think you are at fault.  There are some pple who cant make up their mind where they want to move to.  I really admired your patience.  If it was me I could have emptied the remaining bowl of curry onto him & walk away leaving the scolding behind.

Usually if I anticipate such thing is going to happen, I will tell at the fella ahead & ask him to excuse me.  If he dont move on or give way, then will just raise my voice.  Very often will get a stare or so.  But I dont care, nobody owns the road.

i really pity u.the woman should not have shouted at u in the first place.shows how uncivilised she is....i admire ur patience throughout the commotion.
from my past experience werking in fine dining.here are some measures i could recomend to cool things down in cases of spillage.....

firstly....apologise in a sincere manner.just once would do.
secondly, offer wateva napkins or clean cloth nearby....as for ur cases maybe some soaked tissues would do(in foodcourt)
thirdly, offer something in return....(like bribe ehehe) pay for their food, buy drink.wateva u can afford.
once situation have calm down...offer to wash the stained clothes/buy them a t-shirt etc dryclean for them
if they say nevermind, then lucky u...just put a smile on their faces back,& i sure it will to urs too.....

just my humble peace of advice..... Smiley

You already said sorry. Done your part. It was not deliberate. So don't feel bad anymore! It was an accident no one wanted it to happen.

The auntie so mean, must have had a bad day. Forgive her instead for being mean.
