New BTO project 'Punggol Emerald' will be blocking our beautiful view of the waterfront......

What will happen to the Matilda house? Is it still there or will be demolished?

Punggol Sapphire consists of 6 blocks of 16 storey apartments. One block multi-storey carpark with roof garden. The carpark is located right at the middle of the development.

The estimated completion date of the project is towards the 4th quarter of 2011. ( almost end of 2011.

When pictures were taken at the begining of May 2010, block 269 A were at the 6th level. Towards end May, the 7th level were completed and some column structures were put up and strutted for the 8th floor.

Block 270 C reached floor 10 at the begining of May 2010, end May workers were seen working on the 12th floor level.

The Waterway running from the Serangoon River towards Punggol Road is quite straight. From this point ending Punggol River it forms an ' S ' .

Probably, the design may allow residents to have at least part of the view of the Waterway no matter where we live within Punggol East, Punggol central and Punggol North. Hopefully it is design with this purpose in mind.

16 days later, let's take a look at the progress on site.

A complete floor was put up and " Block 269 A " is now at floor 8. Most of the fabricated structures for the 9th floor are progressing at quite a rapid speed.

270 C is now the tallest at 13rd floor. 50 % of the structures for the next floor were in placed.

Punggol flats are in fact quite congested. Between Punggol Sapphire and Punggol Regalia stood Punggol Residences. With several Lrt tracks and the main Mrt track together in between them, you can imagine how crowded it's going to be.

At the moment, Punggol Residences are still at ground level. In a couple of months time, when the main building structure is up, it may look like a concrete jungle.

Not forgetting we still have Punggol Emerald in front of Sapphire. Punggol Ripples and Punggol Waves behind Punggol Residences. Behind Punggol Regalia will be an up and coming Punggol Sails.

More are on the drawing board, most concentrating at Punggol Central.

Close up view in the evening of the corner block between Punggol Walk and Punggol Field ( block 269A ). In two weeks time, we'll then discuss the structural progress of the blocks in Punggol Sapphire estate.
