In any case, the local uncles really suffered because of all these little things and since its not a formal job, the government could esaily close one eye and pretend nothing has happened. There are many sad stories and I know all this through my father. I am very thankful that I could support his retirement. Singapore is really a cruel place for the old folks.

Yes, I think it is ! Talking about that, I'm really worried if I can stay employable when I reach 40 and 50 years old. Unless you are super rich or you own some business, your boss can anything ask you to pack and go. That is why we better earn as much money as we can until the job market doesn't want us, we can take the money and re-locate to a cheaper place to live. Or like what your father did, he has a good son to depend on.

I'd like to check with you guys how often the Karang Guni Man comes to your house. I have one visited me yesterday and one today. Seems they are different people but doesn't the latter know we had one visted us just yesterday ?

My cousin told me that sometimes, these karang guni men are burgulars because they know which house is vacant by their 'patrolling'. He also told me there was a case of a female karang guni lady who visited houses to give 'special services' to male house-owners on the pretence she is going around collecting old newspapers and clothes. Have you guys met any of such undesirable characters ?

Nevertheless, it does seem karang guni men patrol our estate more frequent than the police officers; house-to-house, blocks-to-blocks almost everyday ! Maybe they should join the police force ?  thumbs up

Once they join the polis force, then no need to patrol anymore.. haha....
