I am not sure about the difference in pricing and rebates, but there is a big difference in quality. My place at block 174D has a serious water leakage problem. Some of my friends staying in Sengkang have encountered the same problem. They have called the Town Council to fix the problem, only resulting in more severe leakages and Town Council said that it is not liable for the damage done to the interior of the flat. Just a common-sense question, these days, flats are built so fast, within 1 year, you could have a new cluster. then despite the improvement in techonology, why are there so many instances of leakages? We are living in flats that could not last for more than 5 years on a 99 years lease. Think about it. Whereas, when I was living in the old estates in Toa Payoh, there is no such problem.

Water and leakage is a very serious problem, there is no way to stop water from flowing. If there is a leakage somewhere in the building, you try to stop at one point, water simply sipped and re-route itself. So someone should trace the source and stop it, not elsewhere. In infectious disease, we call this a " HOST "   ya ?Smiley Overseas they engage a building specialist to do the tracing. You know lah....."angmo " does it. In Singapore.....not sure lah.......maybe there is no such course/training yet in our Polytechnics or universities.

Agree. Water leakage is a serious problem. Strongly advise you to move if your flat has this issue. The town council has came and repaired, but don't know how long will it last. sigh
