SINGAPORE: Police have arrested two youths in connection with a vandalism case in Sengkang East Way.

The boys, 13 and 17 years old, are suspected of spray-painting 16 vehicles parked at a multi-storey car park on Wednesday.

They were arrested on 7 June, a day after the incident.

On the night of 6 June, police received information that 15 cars and one motorcycle had been vandalised with marker pens and spray paint at the car park at Block 325A, Sengkang East Way.

Enquires were made and officers from Sengkang Neighbourhood Police Centre intensified their patrols.

On Thursday morning, they found two youths fitting the descriptions of the suspects at the void deck of Block 323C, Sengkang East Way.

A paint marker was recovered from one of them.

This came just a week after a similar incident in Punggol North.

On 30 May, five cars were vandalised with spray paint at a multi-storey car park.

Police said offenders can be fined up to S$2,000, jailed up to three years and caned between 3 and 8 strokes.

That's fantastic ! We like to know what judgement will be passed on these boys. The police shouldn't let them go lightly because they really have to think about the plight of the victims whose cars have been vandalised by them.

Maybe their parents should pay for the damages to the car owners since these boys have no ability to make money. Also, they should send this 17-year old to army to learn what is discipline about !

Which school is that?

they are under 18, cane is out.
But then again, if the prosecutor delay a bit here, a bit there, by the time the sentence is passed, he may be 18 by then.

I've read somewhere on the newspaper that juvenile delinquents can be sent to Army at early age (16) to deter them from getting bad to worst and be useful tool to the society.
