Vung Tau is a tourist spot situated 125 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh city. Travel by road will take app. 2 hours to 2 1/2 depending on traffic conditions.

When visiting Vung Tau it is always a challenge to visit " Christ Hill " a statue built on top of a hill. To reach the top, one has to climb 945 steps right up to the outstretched hands of Christ.

First some pictures taken from the top floor of a Hotel situated opposite Christ Hill, follow by some video clips of the climb to the peak.

This is a video clip taken at the foot of the Hill where the climb begins. In Singapore, each step of our normal staircase usually measures 9" riser and 9" step ( 9 X 9 ).. the steps up the Hill varies, so one has to be cautious not to trip.

This is the scene of the surrounding areas at about 300 steps up the Hill. In between the climb, there are rest areas to enable climbers to catch a glimpse of what's below and to take refreshments....

500 steps up Christ Hill, this is probably only half way through, there is another 400 steps more to reach the top..
