Edgefield Plains Road Extension With Proposed Bridge Across Waterways......

The Edgefield Plains road extension starts from Punggol Drive. Presently excavators are digging up subsoil and the whole stretch of the proposed road extension had been fenced up.

As new HDB projects such as Waterway Brooks, Waterway Banks, Waterway Sunbeam, Waterway Ridges are underway, many more are still on the drawing boards, building of new roads and extension over existing roads should be of top priority among planners.

The first picture shows work at the junction of Punggol Drive and Edgefield Plains ......

The second connecting picture shows the actual construction of the foundations for the bridge at either banks of the waterway.

In fact the civil engineering work had started quite sometime back but without much media announcements.

The next two pictures show the bridges' foundations at either side of the waterway. If the constructional details are similar to the present bridge over the river inlets facing Oasis LRT Station, then RSJ's will be laid across the waterway sitting on the sets of rc. foundations.

Lets wait for the details. We'll capture them in due course.

From this bridge, towards the left hand side is the " so far unnamed new road from Edgefield Plains extension. On the right hand side the new road leads to Punggol East connecting Edgedale Plains.
