Hi all, Been staying in Punggol for a year or two, recently my wife and I gonna change job soon (for the better) and the place is ard Novena and Newton, super far away for the both of us. We may be thinking of getting a car to go to work, just wanna know wat are the cost breakdowns like monthly for car owners here. I have a rough estimate below not sure if it is realistic would be happy if someone can point out to us, thanks!

Car Instalment - 500
Petrol - 200
Carparking - 100
ERP - 100
Insurance - 100
Other misc including saving for maintainence - 100

Total = 1000

Im currently 26, driving licence more than 2 years liao. Is the above breakdown realistic?

how much down payment do you intend to throw?
what capacity and brand you are looking at?

This is liability means you are buying convenience and time.

The higher down payment to throw, the lesser interest, the lower amt of monthly payment. Don't like the idea of having debts whole life.
The smaller capacity, insurance, road tax, petrol consumption and servicing are in the lower range.
ERP and parking are all the same regardless of cars, this depends your own living standard.
