Old Punggol Road to be tranformed into a Heritage Trail.

1. A section of Old Punggol Road will be permanently closed to traffic, in a move to spruce up the area as the Punggol Digital District plan takes shape.

2. "Old Punggol Road will be transformed into a pedestrian walkway and a 1.3 km heritage trail will link Punggol Waterway Park to the Punggol Point waterfront. The trees along the leafy Punggol Road will be preserved.

Some scenes to remember before changes take place. At the moment contractors had begun working on roads and drains and other infrastructure structures probably supporting the on-going plans.

To date all the Kampong / fish ponds and dirt roads from Old Punggol Road leading to the farms had been dismantled. Trees chopped down, ground levelled and new drains and roads constructed.
