hi
has anyone delivered in sgh , wht are the things u need to bring along during delivery ?

Hi there .... my wife delivered in TMC.

I'm not sure what's provided in SGH, but here's a rough guide based on my experience,

Mums-to-be should bring along:

1) I/C (for identification and registering baby's birth cert)
2) Change of comfortable clothes (just in case)
3) Basic toiletries (towel too, just in case too)
4) Comfortable footwear
5) Maternity pads
6) Disposable underwear
7) Comfort items (mp3 player, a favourite teddy bear, anything at all)
8) Sense of humor

Dads-to-be should bring along:

1) I/C (for identification and registering baby's birth cert)
2) Change of comfortable clothes (just in case)
3) Basic toiletries (towel too, just in case too)
4) Money $$$ (credit cards)
5) Camera/viewcam
6) Comfort items (not for you, but for for your wife .... you got her pregnant didn't you?)
7) Patience, compassion, tenderness, sensitivity, attentiveness, care, concern, support and immense love.
(well .... you got her pregnant didn't you?)

Just having a little fun ..... best wishes and heartiest congratulations!    Grin

Hi,

I delivered in KKH. They provide you with disposable panty and maternity pads, and yes, towel too.

They provide you breakfast, lunch, tea break, dinner and if I remember correctly, supper (MILO/ ginger/ barley).

I would say you have to bring your I/C, bread/ biscuits/MILO (in case you gets hungry in the middle of the night and you don't have to rush to 7 Elevel to buy), 1 set of clothes for you to change when you are discharged, 1 set of baby clothes, flask (for you to store hot water/ tea/ red dates water, can drink anytime), slipper, tooth brush, tooth paste, small tower, facial wash, shampoo and body wash.

Not forgetting your hp. Anything can call your hubby. But do off it when you are not using it. Radiation, radiation. Tongue

From my experience, I sleep most of the time. If not, listening to other patients talking to each other/ joining them. You won't have much energy/ mood to watch TV/ read.

P/s: Ask for their Medela breast pump (quite a big machine, can use it foc, and they provide you with empty botles to store your milk) in case you are not able to breastfeed. Ask the nurse to guide or help you. There's one time free consultation should you need advices for baby to latch on. After that, you have to pay for it. Don't stress if your baby doesn't want to latch.
