i just withdrawn my kid from the class. he has been there for 3 over months on the 5day/week class, but i do not see him interested in going to school in the morning after so long.

yes, u are right about the teachers, they are not keen in kids themselves. Only 1 or 2 are, out of the 5-6 teachers there.. i used to think that since the teacher-to-kid ratio is low, they can take better care of the children, but after some time there i feel that they are too impersonal. my child can speak fairly well but he does not discuss any happenings in school, no matter how we try to prompt and encourage him to like school. my guess is since most of the teachers are not parents themselves so they do not have a genuine love and care for the children and they cannot engage them.

that's my personal feeling, so i decided to take my kid out.

mumtorey, yes the teachers not very caring enuf. But hard to find a school with caring teachers. So far, i found Julia Gabriel teachers are very good.

Also, the shekinah program may be too boring for the kid after sometime. One thing i observed during the class is students dun smile and enjoy very much. Like very serious. Teachers rarely smile too. Maybe that's why ur son dun seems to enjoy much.

So which playgroup you considering now?

Hi all,

my girl just joined this school recently.  After a week of adjustment, she finally stops crying and is happily participating in the class now.

Just want to share my thoughts here.... children at this age lack discipline and is poor at following instructions so I feel that a stricter teacher is good in this case, so they can enforce good discipline on them.

For me, I do not expect too much from the teachers  cos it is not easy to teach toddler ( or to make them understand, morever its only a 2hrs plus session). All I wanted my girl to achieve are to improve on her motor skills, discipline, prepare her to adapt to nursery.
Oh...and Shekinah also have a clean and neat environment, which I like.

I agreed that kids will get bore very soon after playing the same materials, again and again. But I must said that, at home she's more discipline now.... She will keep her toys after playing !!! I guess, this is due to the training in school.....daily routine....hahaha

so what do we (parents) want, when we let our child attend school? It will be easier if we think from this angle.....hope its helps mummies or daddy out there...cheers!
