Born and breed in Singapore by born and breed Singaporean parents. This is truely a Singaporean. People who will stand up for Singapore in case of problems. Other residents may just disappear when there is a problem.

As of today, there are more than one million foreigners in Singapore. Gradually capable truely  young professional Singaporeans may prefer to stay in Australia, New-zealand, America and elsewhere. Some may migrate. At the moment cash-rich retirees had already moved to a country of their choice, more may follow.

Twenty years ago, we had only a " LITTLE INDIA " in Serangoon. Today we have little Thailand, little China, little Briton, little America, little France and most recent " LITTLE BOMBAY ". Tanjong Rhu used to be a swampy area in the 1980's with a few small shipyard in operations. Later it was developed and today, we have luxurious sea-side resort condominums in it's place. Local residents moved out, foreigners move in and finally a little Bombay was born.

Millionaires are aplenty in China, India and the rest of the world. They came, they buy and finally may slowly occupied posh residential districts and landed properities in Singapore. What to do  Huh? Huh? 90 % of singaporeans are termed " heartlanders " by our leaders.

So  Roll Eyes Lips Sealed Undecided do you think this will happen ? We end up being the minority ??  Grin Grin

Sad to say, this is future of Singapore. With all the foreign talents influx into this little island, the population will grow out of these foreign talents. Job opportunities, education seats, housing occupancy will all be affected. And we can also hear from friends and relatives their plans to migrate and their happy stories of migration to other parts of the world. That is why now the garmen is so concern about the aging population and the replacement rate. And the baby bonus benefits have to be attractive.
For young singles, it is easier to make the decision to liquidate and migrate. For couples with kids, it is definitely tougher to make such decision. That's why there are more and more young couples decide not to have kids, and migrating out could be part of their plan.
I think if anyone who wants to retire, and intends to do it here, basically can forget about it.
Look at the rising cost of living and the lifestyle here, who dares to retire? Even if there is a chance to retire, we should also look at what is the life after retirement? In this little island, what would be the 'after-retirement' lifestyle? Stay under voiddeck play chess? Or join some taichi classes? Is that what we want? Or do we just want to work till our last breath? Basically there's a lot more thinking to be done and plannings to be made.
If given the chance, I would also choose to move to another country that has better quality of life and retire there. Sell HDB flat, collect full CPF $$, and move to a more layback country and retire then die there.

Singapore end up in today,  having it's own citizen as a minority is due mainly to the authorities poor foresight. If there was no such policy as stop at two, today we may have a bigger population and there is no need to import foreign workers and so call foreign talents.

The influx of foreign workers brought in dirty and bad habits. Recent film footage on TV on foreign workers today bares common similarities   in rural Singapore in the 1950's. What a disgust.  Are we going backwards ?  Huh? Huh?
