Why is Punggol Park and Punggol CC not in Punggol?

Not sure if this has been asked before but I'm new to this forum and couldn't find related discussions in the other boards.

Anyway I live at 298, the orange flats near the MRT. Always wondered why Punggol Park is so far away. Sometimes I wish to go somewhere to run/walk but there is nowhere nearby that is nice. The roof garden in my cluster of flats also not very nice. Its small and hardly any greenery, unlike some of the other clusters of flats I see nearer the Central Christian Church and some of the schools down the road.

Anyone any comments?

i have to agree with you, i alway wonder why Punggol CC is not near us. i'm staying at 117 , i wanted to up some courses in the CC but it far from when i saty and our CC is in Hougang..Funny.

In fact, the punggol park topic is not new...there has been some discussions abt this in the following thread :

Same goes for the Punggol Clinic found in Hougang Ave 3...
As for the Punggol CC, it was previously located in old punggol village..In fact, i had my kindergarten education there during the 70s..However, due to revamp of old punggol village, this CC was relocated to Hougang(which was then a new town)..that was y this CC had been there since the 80s..

Very simple. Just like all the schools in Singapore. Siglap Sec not in Siglap but in Pasir Ris! Paya Lebar town in somewhere else etc... They love to confuse everybody.
