What I do is prepare food in larger quantities on weekends, pack them in ziploc bags in portions and deep freeze them. Then when I get home late from work, I'll just take a bag out of the freezer, nuke it in my microwave or regular convection oven and I'll have a hot piping meal ready in minutes. Works well with stews and food with gravy. So I can have like a hot chicken stew with vegetables and eat it with bread or rice if I am home early. Cooking in larger quantities is cheaper. Or, I quick steam carrots and broccoli then put them in the fridge. Open up a bag of salad, when I get home late, toss in the cold vegetables, add a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar and I'll have a nice crunchy and colf salad. The veg will keep for 3 days and they'll still be crunchy and fresh. The right steaming technique is essential to preserve the freshness and nutritional value of the vegetables.

Me too... Just my husband and me... Not justified for the time and cost if we eat at home. But sometimes, it gets bored and tiring to think where to eat Tongue

Eating out is cheaper for me cos will only order portion just enough for the two of us.

But when I cook, I'll cook the portion enough for 4 - 6 people. Cos it just not justified to spend time cooking so little food.

That's why my friends always get invited to my house for meals when I cooked.  Grin
