In a recent dialogue session organised by the Council for Third Age ( body promoting active ageing ), REACH ( Govt. feedback agency ) and the MCD youth and sports, the following were brought up :

1. Strengthening inter-generational relationships.
2. Financial assistance.
3. Dragon boat rowing competitions.
4. Helping elderly cope with recession.
5. Minimum wage for senior workers.
6. Bigger transport concessions for the elderly.

In wrapping up the dialogue session, the top gun in charge of elderly issues, ruled out two of the suggestions immediately without second thought.

* Minimum wage for senior workers was not feasible.
* Concession fares were unfair.
