Parents turn up for first matchmaking session at Hong Lim Park

Our PM first talked about this subject in his National Day Rally speech.

Recently,  Hong Lim Park was bustling with activity, a seizable number of  eager parents turned up for the matchmaking party hoping to find a partner for their grown-up children.

Why are our parents doing this ?  Smiley Today firstly, most adults are studying hard in the unversities trying to earn a degree. Next find a job and started working. Some may even go for further studies, others concentrating  climbing the corporate ladder. Many neglected social gatherings, thereby neglected marriage.  Huh? Of course there are many other reasons. What are they ? Why are people not getting married and why are parents worrying ?  chitchat

For a male, even at the age of 40, if he decides to get married and set up a family, he can still do so by finding a suitable girlfriend / mate age below 30. So probably parents with sons may not worry so much.

On the other hand, parents with less education may worry, having a daughter 40 years old and still remaining single.  Huh? Smiley
