Just in case you are thinking about buying
IKEA kitchen cabinets or furniture-

My advice to you is - think again.

I am speaking from current experience.

Ikea cabinet parts are made in China.  I tested one of their
cabinet parts (which is made of cheap chipboard material)
and guess what?

The board swelled after I poured
water over it.

Besides the cheap material used by IKEA,
buying IKEA stuff very troublesome.

And the worst thing that can happen is after
you ordered the items, IKEA delivers the wrong ones.

That is not so bad..... until you are told to bring the
wrong parts to IKEA yourself for exchange or refund.

Can you imagine the trouble you have to go to
like carrying a package  of 50 kg cabinet parts back to IKEA?

Its especially annoying when I did not make an
order mistake, it was IKEA staff who picked the wrong
item to deliver!

I should have listen to my friends who shared the same
bad experience with IKEA furniture products. mad

The crazy thing about buying IKEA is you pay alot of money
for installation.

My advice is better to use local furniture makers. at least they
solid pine wood to make kitchen cabinets.

IKEA supply low quality chipboard materials for their
kitchen cabinets -  all made in China.

I think IKEA have found a trick to convince people to buy their
products -

and I am now not convinced by their quality test gimmicks.

Already paid for so have to live with it now.

I must admit that my Ikea cabinet looks very nice and glossy,
because its still new. I ordered the higher end  (kiasu)
Abstrakt version

But its the lamination that gives it that glossy
'expensive' appearance.  Inside all that handsome facade,
is actually -

made in China cheap chipboard.

China chipbaord factories use all sorts of discarded
wood waste to make  chipboards.

My carpenter  who handles Ikea cabinets told me
never  to allow water get into any of the cabinet
wood panels.

It could cause gradual deterioration.

Years ago I bought 4 special offer  Ikeas cheap colorful
coffee table at S$15.00 each.

And those tables are evidence of IKEA's  wooden
furniture cannot withstand wet, and our humid climate.

If you have these at home make sure you dont drag the
tables, because if you do that, the ends of  table legs will split.
And never allow get into the table.
