2500 people use the station daily.. take the number of unique users per month, and the figure can be quite a bit higher. take the number of unique users per year, and the figure becomes a bit higher still.
in any case, this is a facility that is used by 2500 people every day. is this worth spending 1.2 million a year? I say YES.
1.2 million a year. WOW.. such a huge figure.. how about 100000/mth.. hmmm not that bad is it?
let's see how much it is in a day.. just $3288/day.
is it worth spending $3288/day so that 2500 people every day can have better access to "public" transport? i say DEFINITELY.
Well then, firstly, are u a user of public transportation? Have you considered the implication of the loss of the MRT operator revenue with respect to the overall commuter using the MRT. Looking forward, I predict that this will be one of the justification for the operator to apply for price hike. It will not just affect users of Buangkok station but all who use the MRT station. Perhaps people should think carefully their actions that might affect other people. I have no sympathise for people who do things at the expense of others.
Come on, the meaning of public transport is for the convenience of the public isn't it ... anyway SMRT had reported a 31 percent increase in first half profit to S$77.5 million and is expecting 2H to have a stronger performance. Then why are they crying for opening up the station ?
