Dunno whether there'll be those times during weekends or friday nites where you really don't wanna travel too far or get into town for your meals but still prefer something better than those 'oh no, not again! Tongue' food in the nearby coffeeshops or Punggol plaza...

Just like to see if there're any good eating places nearby our estate where we won't need to travel too far for a good hearty meal Tongue during the weekends.. pls feel free to recommend folks...

To start off, we've found one restaurant called Sunset Grill, situated in seletar airbase, which is only a ten mins' drive away from Punggol. They've got pretty good buffalo wings which you can order on a variety of spicy levels..

Other than that, we've also taken a liking to the Crab Bee Hoon in one of the coffeshop (the second one after turning in from punggol road towards PP). Its probably not as good as the one in amk, etc but it actually not too bad for a good family meal with the rest of the 'zi char' dishes they serves as well...

1) Punggol Park Bliss Restaurant - Food is not too bad and its a scenic place to hang out (fresh air!!!!) Beer is pretty cheap on some days.  Bus 62 goes there straight and takes about 15 mins

2) The Grapevine @ Upper Serangoon - Quite a good place for yuppies with wine, drinks, food, pool table and TV screen for soccer.  Chill out place along the Upper Serangoon main road opp a Chinese temple.  About 2km after Kovan Mrt heading towards Serangoon Central.  Bus 136 goes there and is about 2 bus stops away from Kovan. Parking is behind the building.

3) Hong Kong Cafe @ Heartland Mall - Food is not too bad though some items are pricey becayse of the cheap ingredients they use.  The baked rice is qute yummy if I remember correctly.  Bus 136 stops right at the station

4) Serangoon Gardens (if you dont mind travelling a bit further)  Five Star Hainanese Chicken Rice is yummy! Better than the Poh Sing I feel.  Its right next to the small Guardian Pharmacy opposite the big bus stop.  The zi char there is pretty good too! Quite affordable for larger families.  For places to chill out, try Liquid Kitchen which plays chill-out music in Velvet UNderground. Plus, there are many karaoke pubs and pubs to drink the night away.  Bus 136 goes there.  Takes about 45 mins but faster if theres lesser traffic

Other than the chicken rice, the duck rice, Lee Wee Bros Nasi Lemak & otah, 1.90 Hup Lee Nasi Lemak/Beehoon Mee,  ba chor mee and yong tau foo(facing the interchange) are among the hot favourites at the Kovan Hawker Centre next to Heartland Mall. If you want some desserts or just sit and chill out after your dinner, I think you can also check out http://www.whitetangerine.com.sg/ White Tangerine Cafe at the Paya Lebar Kovan CC which is just in front of the bus interchange. I personally have not tried it before but I will do so this month hehe
