The fate of the Matilda House is now known.

It is termed as a historically and architecturally significant early style tropical bungalow.

Because of having two entrances, raised floors, timber lattice and wooden louvred windows, URA said, " it's the only remaining historical building in Punggol Town ".

So, the proposal is either to restore it as a clubhouse or for  private residence within either Punggol Emerald or another new development next to Emerald.

New comers to Punggol may not know the exact location of the Matilda House.

It is located behind Punggol Sapphire, near to the Soo Teck LRT Station.
