7 months or approx. 200 over days left for the completion of Punggol 21 ++ community club building.

So far, the basement level  building structure had been completed. The Ground Floor concrete slab had been laid.

AT the moment, workers are busy erecting supporting structures ( tubular steel tubes ) to supported the construction of the second floor  RC slabs.

In a month's time, the first and second floor of the CC should be taking shape.

A close up picture showing the massive tabular steel tubes.

Note also the bracings necessary to strengthen the whole supporting system.

The design must be able to support the weight of steel reinforcements and concrete, man and equipment for a minimum of 28 days for concrete to settle before the columns and beams took over the load.

The construction of the CC project uses the traditional method of building construction.

Where each individual columns, beams, walls and floors are totally built and cast on site. No prefabrication or precast components are used.

HDB's uses the prefabrication method for the whole of Punggol Estate, from the second floor upwards right up to the water tank compartments.

See how time consuming the traditional method of construction can be.
