You are not the oly one facing the problems with broken windows handle. My Punggol HDB flat is build by "China Construction" contractor which HDB guy told me that they submitted our Punggol flat for competition and came in frst. Ie. they won as being the best construction compan fo Singapore HDB contractor.

I guess this award winning contractor chose inferior quality parts and products such as the windows handles. Looks nice when you first look at it but it does not last and could not undergo daily normal usage for more than 3 years.

After 2nd year the windows hamdles  started to give way, some broke.  head banging

After that first incident, many other handles gave way one after another.
And I have to keep them lock and not touch it. And for those the need to be frequently onpen and close, I need to have a special way of closing the window so as to make the least stress to the handles. You need to treat those handles like they are made of porcelain (also known as China).  Need to "Sa yang" and treat them like "Ku-Niang" as they are very fragile. Undecided

I am not sur if there is an earth quake in Indonesia, if the Punggol HDB windows can stand the tremor.  It would be a fatal joke to see all the windows and walls collapsing and only the bomb shelter standing.

I am looking for a suitable handle with lock to replace all of them but one with same hole location so that I do not need to re-drill the holes in the already fragile windows alum frame.  I found some windows handles from Home Fix and ithey looked quite ok and comes with lock and key which I wanted.  But I measured the holes location and its off by 2 to 3mm.
Sad. Looking for one that has identical screew holes without need to re-drill the frame.
