Just to find out if anyone saw this incident on Sat nite (6.12.08)? Heard a loud bang while waiting for my waffle at the 1st level cakeshop.
Saw this uncle in his late 60s, lying next to the escalator. People surrounded him sum called ambulance, sum looking for the security.
Heard tis uncle fell as there's a slope after the escalator, the floor is too slippery.
Ya, there's a slope just rite infront of the cakeshop, beside the escalator.
I think PP mgnt need to reconsider flatten the floor or sumthng...
Kids, pregant lady, eldery need to take escalator leh, so dangerously  angry N I wonder how is that uncle now  Sad

Singapore's population is ageing fast. Thats the reason why the authorities are spending  money building ramps for wheelchair bound Singaporeans. Buses are also equipped with wheelchair bays. thumbs up

So far nothing is mentioned about provisions for the elderly in shopping centres and office buildings. If something happens to this uncle, then they may wake up. Otherwise probably nothing will be done. Lets hope PP will look into the matter.
