I've bought durians from the stall outside Punggol Plaza a few times.  But I didn't buy those that are packed in styrofoam trays.  I bought only the whole fruit.  So far, the quality of the durian is quite good and I'm quite happy for what I'd paid for.

Ya lo, i too prefer to buy the whole durian than those in styrofoam box. Those in the box can't really be trusted. Sometimes gd, but most of the times bad. And one thing i observe, the durian vendors wld put those "rejects" (that is those fresh durians which custs do not want aft the vendor open up and let the cust check) into the box and sell. So better don't buy those in styrofoam box.
