Patience and tolerance is a virtue.

But some ppl take things for granted. This woman is definitely too much. There is no need to scold you publicly because:

1. She is not your mother, nor your teacher, nor a policewoman.

2. You did not do it intentionally.

3. She is taking revenge for the spillage of curry on her husband.

Like what you said, she could just ask for an apology from you once more. This is fair enough. Even asking for compensation for the jersey is too much...come on...you just need to dump the stained jersey into the washing machine and pour some dynamo. Its not as if its a branded suit or tuxedo.

Whats done cannot be undone. If such people try this sort of funny stuff again, you can stand firm and ask her to stfu. If she try to be nasty, call the police. I mean, we are nice people but that doesnt mean we are pushovers.

Yeah, I applaude your patience with the verbally abusive woman. I must say that her outburst was uncalled for and rather rude. It's not like you've committed second degree murder. It was just an accident that wasn't even your fault in the first place. She could have at least hear your side of the story first before freaking out. I'd say she's the unreasonable one.
