Since there is a shelter leading from the mall to the lrt station, the mgmt might just want to reconsider shifting the existing vehicle waiting area to somewhere along the road.

That way, they can block off vehicle from coming into the porch at the mall.

I think..maybe the designers forgot there is a LRT station there... in the end, have to resdesign a bit which end up PP being what is is today...

Why wouldn't they want to link the LRT bridge to 2nd floor of PP?  Undecided
