Normally the authorities will not imposed on anything, unless something drastic happens. Few days ago, in Henderson estate, a 52 year old man was knocked down by a 14 year old cyclist in a carpack.
The old man died of his injuries, six hours later in hospital. A doctor who rushed to the scene was shocked by what he saw. He was also surprised the man was in such a critical condition from a bicycle accident.
The bold lettering in our local paper, "
Man dies after collision with cyclist at carpark ". This boy must be riding at top speed, probably at least 70 or 80 kilometre per hour, or even higher. The impact can kill a grown up man, what about children with elderly grandparents, aunties along coverways and pavements after grocery rounds ? They are at higher risk right ?
The Govt. should do something. At the moment, they are promoting cycling especially at Tampines GRC. If nothing is done, or takes time to do, more injuries and lost of life and properties may occur.
