I'm getting frustrated with the morning traffic jams that occur at the 2 exits to TPE (towards Changi Airport).  I'm at Edgefield Plains and would have to endure slow, creeping speeds to get on to the TPE.  Sometimes, I even have problems coming out from Edgefield Plains onto Punggol Field Rd as traffic would be backed up all the way there.

With new properties springing up in Punggol, it seems like the road infrastructure is not keeping pace with the rapid development.  With only 2 exits into the TPE (single lane too), it seems like the problem is set to worsen.  There is construction ongoing at the Punggol Rd exit, but it's only to place bus-stops there - don't see how that's going to solve the problem.

Perhaps I got to start thinking about starting work at 10am.....

There were complaints about traffic jams both within Punggol and especially at the exit point to TPE since year 2006. Search around Punggol.sg and you will find hundreths of threads written on the above subject.

The authorities had painted beautiful pictures of  new road extensions and at least two new expressways over Serangoon river towards Pasir Ris.  Smiley this probably may take another 10 years to implement and materialize.

Singapore is supposed to be well known in town planning and teams of experts had been sent overseas to advice foreign goverments on town planning. Cannot understand why Punggol is being planned the way it is now with heavy traffic jams at major exit points. Not forgetting those who had to take buses to schools and offices with most buses arriving at bus stops with commuters standing on entry door steps.
