HDB launched Punggol Spectra recently, introducing 2 rooms, 3 rooms and the usual 4 rooms.
Punggol Spectra are bounded by Punggol Drive, Punggol Central, Edgefield and Edgedale Plains.
301 units 2 roomers ( 46 to 47 sq.m. ) cost $ 89,000 to $ 109,000.
285 units 3 roomers ( 69 sq. m. ) cost $151,000 to $ 179,000.
556 units 4 roomers ( 94 to 96 sq.m. ) cost $234,000 to $ 293,000.
First time buyers with an average monthly household income of less than $5000 can apply for CPF housing grant of up to $40,000.
When HDB started it's building program in Punggol 21, it proudly introduced " bay" windows running from floor to ceiling,
the first in Singapore, happened to be in Punggol. HDB has put in great efforts in it's design, looking a bit different from other estates.
Due to advertisements on TV and the press, Singaporeans are attracted into Punggol Town. Others like the Permanent Residents, New Residents, whatever are also moving into Punggol.
Is HDB building those 600 smaller units just to cater for the influx of PRS and new residents ? OR because Singaporeans are slowly ageing, most are selling their bigger flats and may move into smaller units ?
What do you think ?
