Survey shows Singaporeans are happy to take a  42% pay cut. If your salary is $1000. You’re still be happy to work for $580 ? For me, I think I'll rather go for a holiday and look for a job later.

If they lost their jobs, Singaporeans on average think they would be able to cope without their main source of income for eight  months.

80% would rely mainly on their personal savings.

Only 5 to 7 people  out of a 100 would turn to the Government or welfare agencies for help

82 per cent of Singapore residents felt it was more important to take one’s own initiative to cope with the economic crisis — by cutting leisure spending and taking a pay cut — than to depend on the Government.

70 % of the population  felt that having foreigners here made no difference to them economically during the crisis.

More than 50 per cent of the respondents indicated the crisis had made no difference to their savings, income, or employment.

Smiley Frequently, in newspaper reports most survey findings indicated that Singaporeans always look to the Government for support.

Grin So who is right and who is wrong ?  Huh?

According to market survey, it was found out that the top Sngaporeans are not  cutting back in spending inspite of the current downturn of our economy.

1.   Car ownership went up a few percentage points.
2.   Sale of designer goods also jumps.

Observers believes the result could be because richer Singaporeans  are taking advantage of bargains during the downturn.

Say what we want, if a person is still gainfully employed, whether it is a recession or a depression, if he needs a car, he will still buy a car.  Smiley That's Singaporean !

If his standard of living remains the same, he stills go for designer clothings.  Smiley That's Singaporean !

Unlike bigger countries, Singapore is a small red dot, as long as we have a job, things should not affect us too much.  cheers
