I'm looking for a good plumber. The toilet cisterns are giving way already - water trickling down all the time. The last plumber changed my dual flush cistern to only a full flush - had to use bottles of water in the cistern to save water - so troublesome. If you know of a reliable one, pls recommend. Many thanks in advance.

I had the last time he charged me $70. I think too ridiculous. Any cheaper one?

I just called the Singapore Plumbing Society (62949252). They recommended an Eric (90083524) to me, he is coming on Monday. I am changing the 2 toilet cisterns to the dual flushing. He quoted normal HDB type $80 per cistern and another $10 for the dual type. I asked for better price since I am changing 2 and he quoted me $160 for 2.

Got this info from their website:

Common Household Plumbing Services & Approx. Cost.

 Description of Services  Unit rate

 1. Clear toilet bowl choke $60 - $250
 2. Clear floor trap choke  $40 - $150
 3. Rectify water discharge into toilet bowl by replacing new siphon. $80 - $120
 4. Labor & material to repair exposed copper pipe leak (n.e. 1 Meter). $80
 5. Replace kitchen sink/basin tap (normal type) $60
 6. Supply & replace bottle trap for kitchen sink $40
 7. Replace Sink/Basin/Cistern flexible hose $20 - $40

 Water Leakage Detection

 8. Labor & Equipment to detect water leakage of concealed pipes in condominiums. $120 - $200
 9. Ditto as above in landed property including underground pipes. $250 - $350
10.Ditto to commercial properties including underground pipes. $500 and above

 Additional charge for transport $15.00

All works performed by SPS Plumbers will have a 3 months guarantee.

If you can get Eric to fix for you on the same day, maybe can get him to waive the transport???

sigh, just a couple of months ago, my toilet bowl got choked. So I called up a plumber from the classified ad. He quoted me S$60. I thought that was a good deal!.

When he arrives, he said the work to be done will cost me S$240 instead. So I negotiate with him and price came down to S$150. Just to clear the choke in my toilet bowl.

He use a machine with a rope, and clear the choke.. but cost me S$150.. sigh..Feel cheated... but at least i got my toilet bowl cleared.. Cry
