If area is bright, dun use flash. Use flash only when the light comes from back of the person u are taking. Birghten the person face with flash.
Btw, what is ur cacmera model?

1. Turn the dial to Manual Mode.
2. Press the Function Button.
3. Under 'Exposure', up the level.
4. Under 'ISO', set to 400.
5. Off the flash.

Now u have doen with the settings.
What u need is a pair of steady hands & tell ur subject to keep very still & not to move till the taken picture is shown on the camera screen. U also need to keep ur camera very steady till the screen shows the taken picture.
