a fren of mine works wif apple. said launch date is not firm. US is selling $500 (S$750 - if i didnt recall wrongly). so i bet when it's launched in singapore, might be S$900.

iPhone has a total hardware BoM and manufacturing cost of well under $250, generating a margin in excess of around 60 percent on each 8Gbyte iPhone sold at the $599.00 retail price. Those not in hurry, should wait for price to drop since there is plenty of margin for Apple to drop the price.

then again it also depends on demand and supply. if demand exceeds the supply then of course the price will go up.
