Think my hb more interested in the driving trip ... malaysia is quite big... so for driving trip... we can have a couple of destinations ... like if we dont wish to take leave... we can always go during the weekends to nearer destinations like Fraser's Hill, Malacca, etc... And on days when we can all afford to apply leaves, then we can go further like Cameron Highlands, Ipoh, KL, etc...
As for KL, we drove there before... traffic conditions can be very bad on a Friday especially near evening time... we got stuck in the traffic for more than 1 hrs when the trip is about 15 ~ 20 mins...
Need a lot of planning for the driving trip cos cannot really rely on the Maps... as the roads keep changing.... take Malacca for example, within four months time... the road just changed from two way traffic to one way traffic and it's not even updated in their latest map... sigh...
