Dear mummies

For full day programme, Pat Schoolhouse charges abt $1200 (B4 sub).

For its assoc school, full day is $800 (B4 subsidy). After subsidy is $650.

Pat school house is established for 18 yrs.  Far longer than any of the preschool here. It has a team of curriculum specialists writing its curriculum for the kids.

U can access www.patschoolhouse.com.sg to take a glimpse at its programmes covered for respective age groups.

Honestly, I cant afford the $1200 fees to send my son there but thot since assoc school teaches the same thing but charges cheaper, why not?

Furthermore, if the programmes are reali good then we dont have to send our kids to enrichment progs during weekends, less tiring for us parents and more time for bonding at home...  thumbs up

No, I will not send my child to a premier preschool.  A lot of research has shown that the children who benefit most from a quality preschool education are children from disadvantaged homes / low socio economic status where there is a lack of stability / stimulation at home.  If you read to your child every day, talk and interact with him and expose him to a wide variety of experiences from nature walk to visits to museums and zoos, he should turn out fine.  There is no need for an expensive preschool education.

Expensive preschool education may not guarantee good progress of the child but parents who are too busy to send their children to other enrichment classes will take up this option. If your child is not given much activities except the basic needs during their time in child care, it will be a neglience to their potential and a waste of their time. I believe the sch pack other activites for the children and I think this is the cause of the high fees. Becos they are not teaching the children by engaging the teachers directly. They are engaging another institute instead (Kindmusik etc).

It really depend how much time one's parents have and how committed are the parents to do what you suggest. When one has to face with the stress of finding money, politicking in the office and other miscellaneous problems.. its difficult to juggle.
