the way they speak Mandarin so painful to my ear. Don't know why they must roll their tongues. I still prefer taiwanese speaking Mandarin. And China adopt simplified Chinese language which have no meanings at all. Still prefer the traditional Chinese language. This communist country is not an ideal country for me.

Dear mummies

Thank you so much for your valuable views here...

I think this topic is open for views on the assoc school, not so much on commenting on the China-born teachers' quality etc ..

My personal view is that we shd always look at things from different angles.

So moving forward, shall we not digress anymore? I will keep this thread on for another few days before closing it meanwhile, i welcome ur suggestions on the assoc school and wat programs/activities u would like to see incorp in the sch ..etc.

Thanks so much!  Grin

No, I will not send my child to a premier preschool.  A lot of research has shown that the children who benefit most from a quality preschool education are children from disadvantaged homes / low socio economic status where there is a lack of stability / stimulation at home.  If you read to your child every day, talk and interact with him and expose him to a wide variety of experiences from nature walk to visits to museums and zoos, he should turn out fine.  There is no need for an expensive preschool education.

I certainly AGREE with you!!!!!  That's very true!!!

I'm side tracking just to share my views about china chinese teachers.  I've encountered a few that are real good and solid in teaching preschool children.  As for their spoken chinses, those from Beijng speaks perfectly with no twang at all.  Its just us that are not used to their way of speaking.

A lot of these teachers that come do have proper teaching certs. too...but then again...you won't know if they are recognise until MOE/MCYS accredits them.

Now back to the issue of permier preschool.  Children CAN DO WELL regardless in the kind of environment.  But time and effort has to be spent on nurturing the child.  If parents can spend the time in nurturing them, I'm sure they will blossom in any school.

just my two cents~ worth..
