I think I better dont say how much I paid for the jabs with my PD  Tongue but I feel safer if my PD gives her the jab because if anything goes wrong *touch wood* my PD is able to follow up because the medical history is with her.

Yes, GP can be a lot cheaper.  The difference in the pricing that I saw at a GP clinic and my PD is about 100+

Usually the extra charges in the PD for vaccines are the specialist fees & perhaps they marked up a little higher for the vaccines.

I also used to get my kids vaccinated at the polyclinic, previously at Hougang cos the Sengkang was not opened yet, the wait was relatively ok and u truly pay cheaper prices because the govt buy the vaccines in bulk. There's a section for infant, kids vaccination in polyclinic & the nurses over there are very seasoned cos they're jabbing everyday and some of them for years oredi.

Off course some parents worried abt the side effects of the vaccines, then how? The polyclinics in fact do gave u some panadol for some vaccines which are likely to cause fever. If you check those vaccines website, the vaccines are generally safe with few side effects.
And anyway, if you talk about vaccines, they're usually from the same 1 or 2 companies like GlaxoSmithKline, so whether u go private PD or polyclinics, u r talking bascially about the same vaccines..... smile

I think there is no differences bet GP or PD in terms of jabs.
PD is more expensive becos they are specialist...
They have 'consultation fee', GP do not.
Of course who doesnt want their baby to have the best doctor?
But i scare ganna some lousy ones..

I was almost certain to go for PD, until a friend of mine told me her experience with one
irresponsible PD @ Glenegles. She told me the doc is so commerical... only think of $
Every checkup doesnt really touch her baby... no physical check...
Go in listen his talk... write a few notes... outside make payment.
If like that, i rather go for GP. Cry
